Gartner has released a new Magic Quadrant focused on privacy user experience, and data‑protection, cyber‑resilience specialist Veeam has been named a Leader.
This Gartner report defines the privacy user experience (UX) as elements within an organization’s privacy program that directly interact with individuals. These elements deliver transparency and control over personal user data, letting people manage and exercise their preferences and rights. Privacy UX supplies organizations with a compliance‑aligned foundation for responsible data usage. It consolidates and synchronizes individual preferences across every interaction point, supporting solid consent management and streamlined subject‑rights request handling.
Gartner states: “The privacy UX enables individuals to control how much personal data to expose, to whom and for what purpose. It encompasses all the touchpoints where individuals meet and engage with organizations.”
Per Veeam, its privacy‑UX tooling gives enterprises a means to discover, secure and govern personal data spanning both production and backup environments. This ensures consent settings, user preferences and data subject rights remain enforceable throughout the complete data lifecycle.
Anand Eswaran, Veeam CEO, commented: “You can't protect what you don't understand, and you can't promise privacy you can't prove. Privacy is a commitment that has to survive across every copy of their data, in production and in backup. Veeam is the first to unify data security, governance, privacy, compliance and resilience together, and that's why we lead this market worldwide."
Veeam secured its position in this Magic Quadrant via its 2025 acquisition of Securiti AI. The deal brought capabilities to scan production datasets such as a customer’s full AWS environment and map information leveraging graph‑based technology. Veeam obtained data‑item relationship intelligence and mapping features, where users are represented as traceable data objects with defined attributes and associations. Veeam now competes alongside a fresh set of vendors within the privacy‑UX segment, and the Magic Quadrant graphic outlines these competing suppliers.
The October 2026 Gartner Privacy UX Magic Quadrant evaluates 11 vendors, with five classified as Leaders; Ketch ranks foremost among this group. Out of all 11 assessed providers, Veeam stands apart by delivering privacy controls covering both production and backup datasets.

The firm applies data security posture management (DSPM) and data classification across active and backup data sets. This addresses a well‑known industry blind spot: personal information often remains stored within copies even after governance rules are applied to production systems. The platform also enables priority‑based recovery, allowing organizations to restore their most sensitive datasets first amid security incidents.
